Building Permit
Any building or structure that is to be erected, constructed, enlarged, altered, repaired, moved, improved, removed, converted or demolished requires a Building Permit from Development Services/Building Division. However, there are some exceptions that do not require a Building Permit.

Encroachment Permit
The City Engineer's office located at City Hall administers Encroachment Permits. Encroachment Permits are required pursuant to Rohnert Park Municipal Code, Chapter 12.04. Applications are available at Development Services/Engineering Division, 130 Avram Avenue or on this website by clicking here. Permits are required for making an opening or excavation for any purpose in any City Street or public right of way. For example, if someone wants to widen their driveway approach apron or install a drainpipe through the sidewalk, these require an encroachment permit.

Parking Permits
On February 11, 2014, the City of Rohnert Park City Council approved the designation of the M-Section Permit Parking Area per the Residential Parking Permit ordinance (City Ordinance 818 - RPMC 10.50). Effective May 1, 2014, a Residential Parking Permit will be required for on-street parking on Maximillian Place and on Maurice Avenue (between Mercedes Way and Michael Way) between the hours of 6:00am and 10:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Public Safety Permits
The Public Safety Department located at 500 City Center Drive administers Fire Permits and a variety of other permits.

Transportation Permit
Oversize Vehicle or Load Permit: A Transportation Permit is required when the operation and moving of vehicles or loads in, on, upon, along or into any public street or highway in the city in excess of size, height and weight of vehicles allowed to be moved or operated on highways under the provisions of Division 15 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California occurs.
