Street Light Replacement Project Information
The City is working in partnership with PG&E to replace most of the City’s remaining high-pressure sodium (HPS) streetlights with new state-of-the-art LED lights.  LED streetlights use much less energy than traditional HPS streetlight bulbs, last several years longer, and emit a brighter and more vivid light, which will improve visibility for street traffic.  The streetlights mounted on the wooden poles located in H and F sections are not included in this project.  The scope of the wood pole mounted streetlight replacements is  much more extensive than the current LED streetlight fixture replacement as the poles will also have to be replaced.  The City is planning a multiyear separate project to replace the light fixtures and poles in H and F sections.  

The current LED streetlight replacement project will start in the northern section of the City on the week of May 21, 2018 and proceed south through the remaining sections.  We anticipate that the LED Streetlight Replacement Project will be complete by the week of June 18, 2018. Street light poles are marked with a stencilled identification number, typically facing the street side of the pole.  (Examples: RP100 or N150)
Report malfunctioning street lights to 707-588-3300 or ReachRohnertPark, please identify:


  1. the pole number,
  2. street name,
  3. nearest address, and
  4. your name and contact number.
