Public Safety Wants to Partner With You
In an effort to better serve the community, the Investigations Unit of Rohnert Park Public Safety is compiling a list of locations in the city with surveillance video. Many Rohnert Park residents have surveillance cameras at their homes and/or businesses. Increasingly, security cameras that are faced outward in front of homes and businesses have captured images that have proven critical in sucessful crime solving.
Our goal is to have a list of locations with a contact person that maintain a surveillance video so in an event that a crime occurs at a specific location we can quickly look up who has video and who to contact.
If you would like to participate in this program, please take a moment to call the Investigation Unit at (707) 584-2630 with the following information if you maintain a surveillance video.
•Address and location of security cameras
•Contact Person and phone numbers
•In the event that your video is on a loop, please provide us the amount of time you keep the video
You can also email this information to be added to the list.
We encourage residents that want to participate to consider placing a camera facing the front of their home or business if not already installed. In the event of a crime in your area, investigators may contact you to see if information was captured on your camera.
Surveillance video is one of the most effective tools for solving and deterring crime. The better relationships we have with local businesses, and the more we partner with the residents of our city in order to make surveillance video more accessible, then the more effective we can be in enhancing the safety of our businesses and residential areas.
