Discover Your Future
The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety Explorer Program begins October 2024!
The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety Explorer Program is a fun and safe way for young adults, ages 14-20 years of age, to learn about the field of law enforcement and firefighting. Explorers receive training, participate in ride-alongs with on-duty officers and firefighters and assist with community engagement events. Explorers participate in physical fitness training and build lifelong skills such as teamwork, responsibility, and leadership.
The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety has a long tradition of Explorers who have successfully become police officers, dispatchers or enlisted in the military. Others who may choose a different path, take with them the knowledge and background of law enforcement, firefighting and invaluable life skills.
The program offers young adults training on topics related to the criminal justice system, firefighting, practical experiences, competition, and other activities. Additionally, the program promotes personal growth through character development, respect for the rule of law, physical fitness, good citizenship, and community service.
