Create an eTRAKiT account

The City of Rohnert Park is expanding the use of the City's online permitting system called eTRAKiT. You can now apply for permits, schedule inspections and track progress of your applications online. The first step is to create a user account. This page will walk you through how to set up an account as a public user or as a contractor/design professional. We have included a video at the bottom of the page as well.

Key Information

  • There are two types of accounts, Public or Contractor and different methods to apply based on which you type you need.
  • You need an email address to set up an account.
  • You need an account to apply for a permit.
  • Paper and email applications are no longer accepted for most permit types.
General public

Use this account type if you are a resident, business owner, unlicensed design professional, or member of the public.

  • Visit the City of Rohnert Park eTRAKiT website.
  • Select Setup an Account at the top/Left of the page.
  • Complete the required fields.
  • Create a login name that uses letters an numbers only.
  • Create a password that conforms to the password rules on the page.
  • Select a security question and input the answer twice. This answer will be needed if you ever forget your password so please make sure it is something you can easily answer.
  • To finish your set up process, select "Create Account"
Contractors and Design Professionals

Licensed contractors and design professionals need to submit a request to the Building staff to have your account set up. Contractors must provide the following information via email([email protected]):

  • Name of Applicant
  • Contact name (if different than applicant)
  • Business name
  • Business Address, City, State, Zip
  • Email Address
  • Phone Number
  • CA State Contractor's License Number and type

A City of Rohnert Park Business License needs to be obtained prior to applying and getting a building permit issued. Should the Worker's Compensation Insurance and/or Contractor's License or Rohnert Park City Business License be terminated, suspended, or revoked, then the Applicant shall immediately cease any and all work and notify the City of Rohnert Park Building Division.
