To register or preregister to vote, you must meet the following criteria:
- You are a United States citizen.
- You are a resident of California.
- You are at least 18 of age or older on, or before, Election Day.
- Citizens between the ages of 16 and 17 may preregister.
- You are not currently serving a state or federal prison term for conviction of a felony.
- You have not been found mentally incompetent by a court of law.
In order to vote in Rohnert Park, an individual must reside in Rohnert Park and also register with the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters.

There is various information regarding elections online with the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters including registered voters lookup, vote by mail ballot status lookup, polling place and sample ballot lookup, and current election results. Live election results will be posted on Election Day after 8:00 p.m.
Voter Registration Forms are available at the Rohnert Park City Clerk's Office, Sonoma County Registrar of Voters, local libraries, Department of Motor Vehicles Offices, and U.S. Post Offices.
You may also register to vote online by visiting the Secretary of State's website at https://registertovote.ca.gov/ and following the instructions listed on the California Online Voter Registration webpage.
Registration Deadline
To vote, you must register at least 15 days prior to an election. If you are registering or re-registering less than 15 days before an election you will need to complete the Same-Day Voter Registration process and request your ballot in person at your county elections office or polling location.
