Senate Bill 731 calls for voluntary statewide certification of massage therapists. This bill, which commenced on September 1, 2009, provides for the statewide certification of massage practitioners and massage therapists by the California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC).
The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety no longer issues massage therapist, massage business or massage therapist/business permits. Professionals who wish to conduct massage in Rohnert Park will now be required to obtain CAMTC Certification, along with a Rohnert Park business tax certificate. Applications for a Rohnert Park business tax certificate are available online and at City Hall, 130 Avram Avenue, Rohnert Park. Applications for CAMTC Certification are available from the CAMTC.
