Community Meeting on Retail Attraction in Rohnert Park on August 16
Published on Aug 3, 2017 13:13
The City of Rohnert Park is holding a community meeting to discuss economic development and retail attraction on August 16 at 5:30 p.m. in the Rohnert Park City Council Chambers. As the City moves forward in assessing and activating retail in the community, we would appreciate your ideas, input and support. There will be a short presentation and an opportunity for residents to share their thoughts on this topic.
The City has secured the services of the Design Guild and Peninsula Development Advisors to provide Retail Business Attraction Services and complementary marketing materials.
The consultants have contacted local businesses, leaders and community members to learn more about Rohnert Park and its retail needs and desires. As a part of this outreach, the community is being asked to participate.
Adding targeted retail businesses has an impact on local residents by providing additional choices for restaurants, shopping and entertainment. These businesses also add sales tax revenue, which is a primary source of revenue that funds city services such as police, fire and parks.
Community members are valuable stakeholders and we would like to add your voice to the conversation.
Community outreach will culminate in an action plan that will be a template for activation of retail in our community.
If you are unable to attend the meeting, but would like to add your thoughts, you may contact Susan Barnes at [email protected]. Thank you for your assistance with this important project.
