Rohnert Park Public Safety Explorer Program

Who Can Join? Young adults, ages 14-20, interested in law enforcement and firefighting.

Program Highlights:

  • Training in law enforcement and firefighting

  • Ride-alongs with on-duty officers and firefighters

  • Community engagement events

  • Physical fitness training

  • Lifelong skills in teamwork, responsibility, and leadership

Success Stories

Many past Explorers have become police officers, dispatchers, or enlisted in the military. Others gain valuable life skills from the program.

  • Application Process

    • Submit your interest form.
    • Meet minimum criteria and attend an information night.
    • Submit an application packet.
    • Complete an interview and background investigation.
    • Attend bi-monthly meetings if accepted.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Ages 14-20 and attending high school or college
    • Interest in law enforcement and firefighting
    • Maintain a 2.5 GPA (report cards required)
    • Show responsibility and maturity
    • Attend bi-monthly meetings
